Managing Partner
MILCOM Venture Partners & Managing Director, OnPoint

Jason Rottenberg is the Managing Partner of MILCOM Venture Partners.  In this role, he is responsible for the two funds currently under management, MILCOM Technologies and OnPoint Technologies. Jason has over fifteen years experience founding, investing and growing early-stage technology companies, and he is a frequent speaker on the topics of technology commercialization, the merits of leveraging Federally-funded research and development, and the role of venture capital in the Defense industry.

MILCOM Technologies is a seed-stage investor that starts companies in partnership with defense contractors, federal laboratories and other leading-edge research and development sources. MILCOM has partnered with numerous defense contractors and National Laboratories, including Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, ITT Industries and the Idaho National Laboratory. Investors in the fund include APAX Partners, Bank of America, Motorola, Nortel, Xilinx, and MDS Capital.

OnPoint is a strategic private equity investor with a mission to discover, invest in and support companies and programs at the intersection of the defense and commercial markets. OnPoint’s sole investor is the US Department of Defense, through the Army, which has committed over $60m to the fund. OnPoint has ten portfolio companies and has co-invested extensively with other top-tier venture capital firms, including Sequoia Capital, Benchmark Capital, Technology Partners, DFJ Element and Mohr Davidow Ventures. OnPoint has also partnered extensively with corporate investors, including Intel Capital, Motorola Ventures, Venturetech Alliance (TSMC), and Qualcomm.  OnPoint’s first strategic transition of product to the Army from one of its portfolio companies is expected to save the Army more than its entire commitment to the fund.
