Richard W. Mayo is Executive Vice President for Network and Enterprise Services with CACI International Inc, an information technology and network services company with fiscal 2007 revenue of $1.9 billion.
A former Vice Admiral with the United States Navy, Mr. Mayo joined CACI's top management team in January 2004. He leads the Network and Enterprise Services Operating Group with primary clients being the Defense Information Systems Agency and the Office of the Secretary of Defense. In March 2004, Mr. Mayo was named to Federal Computer Week's "Federal 100" list of government and industry leaders who have made outstanding contributions to the federal information technology community. He was cited for his role as the first Commander of the Naval Network Warfare Command, where he led the drive to make the Navy a network-centric fighting force. His leadership resulted in the alignment of the Navy's considerable information technology assets and commands, enhancing capabilities and contributing significantly to allied interoperability and information exchange during the Afghanistan and Iraq operations. Mr. Mayo's career includes more than 35 years of experience as a military leader, including assignments with top Department of Defense (DoD) information operations and telecommunications organizations. He served as Director of the Navy's Space, Information Warfare, Command and Control Directorate, and Director of the Fleet and Allied Requirements Division. He was a member of the Command, Control, and Communications staff of the U.S. European Command and served the Joint Chiefs of Staff as Assistant Deputy Director in the Command, Control, Communications, and Computer Systems Directorate. His commands included the guided missile frigate USS Nicholas and the Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station, Eastern Pacific in Hawaii. His first assignment as a flag officer was as Commander of the U.S. Naval Forces in Korea. Mr. Mayo is a distinguished graduate from the U. S. Naval War College, College of Naval Warfare and attended the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California, graduating with highest honors. He holds a master's degree in telecommunications management. His personal awards include the Distinguished Service Medal (with Gold Star), the Defense Superior Service Medal (with Oak Leaf Cluster), the Legion of Merit (with Gold Star), the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal (with two Gold Stars) and the Navy Commendation Medal (with Gold Star). He was also awarded the Order of National Security Merit Cheonsu Medal by the Republic of Korea in December 1997. Among his civilian honors, Mr. Mayo received the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics C3I Award for 2003. |
