Steve Briganti brings a rare perspective of IT security issues, having served in executive roles in information and telecommunications technologies startups, a Fortune 250 company and in Federal government agencies for over 20 years. Currently, as President of his company, sprout-IT, Inc., Steve focuses on enterprise security and applications, infrastructure and services while serving in strategic positions with both the US Government and with private companies in Internet search, services and Search Engine Optimization. He also provides strategic support and consulting in environmental remediation and clean technology spaces.
Previously, as Vice President and General Manager at General Dynamics-Network Systems, Steve is credited with leading his business through a period of rapid expansion and revenue growth, while directing $1 billion global deployments of IT infrastructure and converged communications systems for Defense Department customers. He transformed his business into a leading integrator of secure wireless and network technologies, building the US Navy's first certified secure global network infrastructure, and the US Army's prototype secure wireless system. As an executive at wireless technologies startup, Mobilisa, Inc., Steve helped to bring new patented technologies to market. Formerly, Steve served as a US Navy aviator and evolved as a leading expert in national Defense vulnerabilities, risks and threat planning; and in network-centric communications systems. Steve headed one of the US government's first-ever global deployments of an IT enterprise, a 300,000-seat, one-million user global intranet. In this capacity, he pioneered initiatives in network architecture, security, governance, converged communications, ERP and knowledge management, while directing Network Information Operations, Information Assurance, network systems management, security awareness, and standards/procedures development and deployment. Steve also commanded a Navy aviation squadron, led an aerospace program, served as a congressional adviser to the Secretary of the Navy, was Chief of Staff to the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations in managing an $80 billion annual budget. Steve has been honored as a Federal Executive Fellow at The Hoover Institution, Stanford and a US Navy Fellow at MIT.
