relationships or experience to successfully commercialize their products and services into government and industry markets.
At the same time, government, industry, system integrators and venture capital leaders are constantly looking for
innovative IT security solutions.
Seasoned venture capitalists, entrepreneurs, government and industry IT security leaders and program managers from The Department of Homeland Security, Nortel Federal, British Petroleum, In-Q-Tel, DeVinCi, General Dynamics, BEA, Levensohn Venture Partners, Hummer Winblad, Norwest Ventures, National Institute of Standards and Technology, National Science Foundation and other entities will lead highly interactive sessions on topical matters. These subject matter experts will offer successful approaches and lessons learned to a select group of entrepreneurs, innovators, and leaders of university spinouts thru maturing companies on how to navigate the critical first years of their ventures.
The information learned and relationships developed will provide for a more educated investment process, access and the opportunity to explore technology solutions that address the critical needs of government and private industry. These collaborative efforts are designed to "bridge the gap" and accelerate the transition of technology solutions into commercial products for both industry and government consumers.
We are proud to share that the inaugural IT Security Entrepreneurs Forum (ITSEF) held on March 14, 2007, received very high marks in the exit evaluation. With that in mind, we are expecting applicants to register early and anticipate over 300 participants at the 2008 ITSEF.
To ensure the best and brightest entrepreneurs and innovators attend the IT Security Entrepreneurs' Forum, invitees nationwide are asked to complete a short application questionnaire Registration will close once the Forum has reached its target of 130 companies who have passed the screening process. A screening committee of selected representatives from venture capital, industry, principal investigators and research analysts will screen all applications based on IT security focus, end user need, vision and differentiation. Part of this process is designed to ensure the attendees represent an appropriate mix of seasoned and less experienced entrepreneurs.
Demographics of the March 14th, 2007, ITSEF attendees:
- 30% are pre-formation, formation or are in the product developing stage
- 44% started with founders capital
- 31% have 10 or fewer employees

- 48% have already sold to the Government
