Many startups, early stage and maturing companies provide new and innovative solutions, but do not have the resources, relationships or experience to successfully commercialize their products and services into government and industry markets. At the same time, government, industry and venture capital leaders are constantly looking for innovative IT security solutions.

Seasoned venture capitalists, entrepreneurs, government and industry IT security leaders and program managers from The White House, DHS, Sun Microsystems, Oracle, eBay, and other entities will lead highly interactive sessions on topical matters. Below is a sampling of the types of sessions that will offer successful approaches and lessons learned to a select group of entrepreneurs, innovators, and leaders of university spinouts thru maturing companies on how to navigate the critical first years of IT security ventures:
  • Communicating your value proposition
  • Assessing ideas
  • Understanding industry and government needs and priorities
  • Breaking the government barrier to entry
  • Understanding the government procurement process
  • How to access government funds to finance your company
  • What are the hot topics - market trends and conditions
"It's not what you know, but who you know," will be the order of the day. The social networking opportunities created by this Forum will lead to closer working relationships between entrepreneurs, innovators, researchers, investors and government and private industry IT security leaders. The information learned and relationships developed will also provide for a more educated investment process, access and the opportunity to explore technology solutions that address the critical needs of government and private industry. These collaborative efforts are designed to help accelerate the transition of technology solutions into commercial products for both industry and government consumers.

To ensure the best and brightest entrepreneurs and innovators attend the IT Security Entrepreneurs' Forum, invitees nationwide are asked to complete the application form on this website. Do not wait to apply as registration will close once the Forum has reached its target of 175 applicants who have passed the screening process. A screening committee of selected representatives from venture capital, industry, principal investigators and research analysts will screen all applications based on IT security focus, vision and differentiation. Part of this process is designed to ensure the attendees represent an appropriate mix of seasoned and less experienced entrepreneurs. We thank you for your interest and look forward to seeing you at Stanford University on March 14, 2007.
